Who are we? We are the badass dynamic duo of creative and completely efficient Interior Design. We also happen to be a Mother and Son team and we think that’s pretty awesome!
Our team works on all facets of design projects including new construction, renovations, commercial projects, home updates, virtual (e-decor) and real estate staging.
We specialize in designing homes for crazy busy executives, entrepreneurs, public figures and busy homeowners. Our clients rely on us to capture their personality, define their wants and needs by creating an environment that reflects them and provides them with a relaxing and beautiful space to call home. Hassel free, stress free, because we know how to handle every little detail for them. Our commitment is to provide exceptional design and service beyond your expectations.
Currently Burlap & Crystal have projects in San Diego, Orange County, Las Angeles and E-Décor clients in Oregon, San Francisco, Chicago and New York.
Julie knew when she was five years old that she wanted to be an interior designer. However, sometime life tosses you a round a bit and you land doing something you’re good at and find other ways to feed your passion.
With an education in business, Julie worked in corporate leadership most of her adult life while raising two children on her own and later blending two families together.
In 2013 Julie left the corporate world to take Burlap and Crystal the firm to the next level. Burlap and Crystal Interiors is now working on both residential and commercial projects in Southern California, as well as e-design a virtual design service with clients all over the US.

Not only am I now able to do what I’m really passionate about but, I’m able to do it with the person who brought me into this world and the person who introduced me to the world of design. I can remember at a young age going to clients houses with my mom and being fascinated by all of it, the colors, the art, flooring, wallpaper, literally all of it. Not exactly a typical set of interests for a toddler, but I was surrounded by it constantly.
I had ben craving a creative outlet that really spoke to me for years. Design hadn’t entered my mind until my mom created the Burlap & Crystal. I’d give my little bits of advice every now and again. It always made me feel so alive. I started working on my own projects; redoing furniture, tables and really anything I could get my hands on. I knew that design is what I wanted to do. Then one day my Mom asked me to join the design team. Needless to say I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve had the time to grow as an individual and develop my own taste and style.
I have an affinity for darker things, pieces that most would completely overlook. I represent the burlap, my style is a little raw, industrial, dark. I’m pretty covered in tattoos and at first glance probably look nothing like your typical designer. While my mom is the crystal, polished, neat, and a little softer. When we combine our styles you’re guaranteed to end up with a one of a kind space. Something that has never been done before!
